Underlaminate Heating

Electronic Floor Heating

Warmup’s wafer thin underlaminate heater fits between the floor and underlay. If it wasn’t for the lovely warm feeling in the room, you would never know it had been fitted.

As the heating solution becomes part of the floor, with no hot or moving parts, you can still enjoy an uncluttered home, as well as a maintenance-free heating system. Best of all, this clean, silent and odour-free heating solution will not dry out the air or aggravate allergies.

Our underlaminate heaters are foil based, ensuring even heat distribution. Thanks to the technology, they are 100% waterproof, further acting as an earth shield over the internal core wire. Built with spring like flexibility, the core wire is a durable cushion that can withstand heavy furniture, snooker tables, stiletto heels and other household items, provided installation is done correctly.

The underlaminate heating pads are designed to never overheat and can be left on continuously. However due to the SAWALFA regulations for heating laminates, a floor sensor is to be installed under the pad, between the heating wires. The sensor works in conjunction with an intelligent Warmup thermostat, which ensures that the temperature never exceeds 27°C under the laminate. To ensure the laminate is heated evenly, at least 90% of the floor space must be covered with heating pads.

Laminate

Laminate heating pads are suitable for use under most modern laminate locking systems, however glued timber floors require a different type of Warmup heating solution.

Foil Heating Pad

Warmup’s heating pads are a result of more than three decades of advanced research and development. It is important to cover at least 90% of the floor space with heating pads, to ensure the laminate is heated evenly.

Underlay and Damp Proof Membrane

A good quality underlay is essential to protect the heating pad and reduce downward heat loss. A minimum of 200 micron damp proof membrane should be used, or Combilay Underlay.

Subfloor

To ensure you enjoy the full lifespan of the heating system, it is vital that the subfloor is perfectly smooth and level, and free of stones and grit.

Safe

Warmup underlaminate heaters are safety tested and are completely waterproof. It is encased in a tough "earth shield" which withstands heavy traffic and eliminates the risk of electric shock.

Technology

Warmup components have the benefit of over 30 years of European technology for applications that demand high flexibility, continuous operation at high temperatures and long working life.

Unobtrusive

Discreetly hidden from view, this wafer thin heater lies hidden between the laminate and underlay. There are no visible elements or radiators. No summertime storage problems.

Flooring Type

Under most modern laminate locking systems, with a maximum thickness of 12mm. Glued down timber floors require a different type of Warmup heating system. We would recommend using a system with a join strength of at least 600kg per linear meter, and a locking system that can be refitted several times if necessary.

Control

While Warmup heaters have been designed to never overheat, and can be left on continuously, it is a SAWALFA regulation that underlaminate heating must be controlled with a thermostat and a floor sensor, ensuring that the temperature never exceeds 27°C beneath the laminate.

Installation

Quickly installed under new or existing laminates by any competent installer. It is particularly important that the subfloor is perfectly smooth and level, and free of any stones or grit.

Underlay

A good quality underlay is essential for reducing downward heat loss. We recommend a minimum of 200 micron damp proof membrane, or Combilay Underlay.

Economical

This is not in-screed heating, and is effective within 2-6 hours of switch-on. Laminates must be heated evenly and gently, to ensure the expansion and contraction is steady and even.

Guarantee

A 5 year factory backed warranty is provided. Warranty forms are issued with each heater, which include important instructions on the correct way to use the heating system.

Thermostats

For ultimate control and maximum energy efficiency, we recommend the use of an intelligent Warmup thermostat.
